Holidays are sweet times made for snuggling up by the fire, singing songs, and connecting with those we love. But for the recently brokenhearted Amanda, an executive living in LA, and Iris, a journalist living in England, a lack of connection has given way to loneliness, and they yearn to get away from their solitude. In a moment of maniacal clarity, Amanda turns to the internet to plan her escape and finds Iris and her cozy English cottage on a home exchange website.

Strangers to each other but kindred in their longing, Iris and Amanda decide to switch houses for the holidays. As they search for temporary relief from the pain of heartbreak, they find true and lasting change through discovering their untapped potential for connection, resilience and joy.

Developed at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop - Second Year Project.
